Julie Upshur was born in southern California and raised in middle Tennessee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. When she’s not at work or held hostage by her latest writing project, she can be found with her ex-racehorse, Daniel Joseph; chilling with one of her nine siblings or their children; or training for her next marathon.

She’s obsessed with books, running, lifting, riding horses, and a couple of other things. She loves to write stories about complicated and loving families, strong women, and variations on the wild, wonderful world we live in.
